See the allowance you have left or the API spend you want to watch, right beside the work. TickrMeter’s AI Usage app gives supported Claude, Codex and API metrics a place on your desk.
A quick glance before the next build. One fewer dashboard to remember.
Start with the number that helps you decide
Personal subscription allowance and organization API spend need different connections. Choose the one that matches how you use AI.
| Your question | Choose | Connect |
|---|---|---|
| How much Claude allowance have I used? | Personal Claude usage | A supported signed-in Claude Code installation and TickrMeter’s local helper. |
| How much Codex allowance remains? | Personal Codex usage | A supported signed-in Codex installation and the local helper. |
| How much is our API usage costing? | Organization API usage | A supported OpenAI or Anthropic organization connection with the required Admin-key permissions. |
The app’s setup shows the options available for your account and connection. Check those before choosing your display. Our integration guide explains the ready-made app route.
Personal limits, without another tab
Use the personal connection to keep an allowance reading and its reset information close by. Keep the window name visible so you know whether you are looking at a short usage window or a weekly allowance.
Setup uses a small helper on the computer where your coding assistant is installed and signed in. Copy the one-time command from TickrMeter and follow the instructions there. The helper needs to keep running on an awake, connected computer to send new readings.
Start with the guide for your assistant: check Claude Code usage and limits or check Codex usage and reset times. Each explains how to find the original reading before putting it on your desk.
API spend, with the period attached
For organization API usage, use the separate API connection. This route reads supported provider usage and cost reporting. It does not depend on the personal helper.
Choose a spend view with a clear period, such as today or this month. When comparing it with the provider’s dashboard, use the same organization, period and filters. Provider reporting can take time to catch up with your latest work.
Our OpenAI API cost guide explains the Costs API and how to interpret its totals. Your coding subscription’s allowance remains a separate measurement.
Connect, preview, put it on your desk
- Open Apps and choose AI Usage.
- Select the personal or organization connection that matches your account.
- Follow its setup instructions and choose an available display view.
- Save your setup, check the preview and send it to your TickrMeter.
Use the reading’s age as well as its value. A sleeping computer can leave personal usage unchanged; API reporting can lag. Check the original source if a number looks unexpected.
Want to show something else?
Start with AI Usage for its ready-made views. For your own app metrics, explore custom displays with AI and APIs. You can describe a layout to a compatible assistant through MCP, then connect the data that makes it useful. The AI Usage app itself does not require an MCP connection.
Find your TickrMeter, or open AI Usage in your account if one is already on your desk.
